Moda is the brainchild of chef Javier Codina, who has made the most of the end-Botanical Gardens location to offer a beautiful garden courtyard as well as a contemporary main dining room, all in the heart of the city. Enjoy a laid back lunch on the mezzanine, or come for a more formal dinner with some eclectic dishes guaranteed to tickle those taste buds. The menu here is inevitably western Mediterranean-influenced, thanks to Codina's Catalan heritage, and you can always find him in Brisbane's markets early every morning, sourcing the freshest ingredients for his ever-changing menu. Enjoy drinks in the casual bar area, and then really indulge in the dining room, with an incredible wine list (and wine wall!) to choose from. Ask your sommelier for suggestions, as you'll want to make sure you heighten those senses just enough for your palate to know it's been spoiled.
Settle down to some sublime Manolete chorizo sausage with Guernica capsicum, Western Australian octopus with mango emulsion, and scallops with fennel and spring onion, before a main event which could be anything from Rangers Valley sirloin, to one of Javier's speciality paellas. If you're undecided, leave it to Javier to select dishes for your whole table. On Thursday and Friday lunchtimes, you can also enjoy the Moda Market Menu, a two-course treat from that day's market dishes.
