Kelvin Grove

North of the Inner City Bypass...
Sandwiched between Paddington and Enoggera Creek, is Kelvin Grove, a mainly residential suburb, 3km from the CBD, with plenty of tree-filled boulevards, parks, shady streets and the Victoria Park Golf Complex.
At the city end of Kelvin Grove...
to the south, you'll find the Kelvin Grove Urban Village; 16 hectares of shops, bars, restaurants, leisure & business facilities, theatres and galleries, and which claims to be the country's first "master-planned precinct". Branch off any of the streets either side of commercial Kelvin Grove Road (the main route through the district) and you'll find lots of peaceful residential streets with quaint little houses and pretty gardens, as well as the odd towering apartment block. The area is home to Le Boite Theatre Company, based at the Roundhouse Theatre, and one of Brisbane's most respected performance groups. Other attractions in Kelvin Grove include the Nursing Museum and the eclectic Red Hill Gallery.
On Kelvin Grove's east side...
Is Victoria Park Golf Complex, offering not just an immaculate 18-hole course with stunning views of the city skyline, but function rooms, conference and exhibition spaces, and a trendy bar/restaurant. The attached Putt-Putt mini golf course is a popular destination for groups of friends who take their sport a little less seriously than the Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroys, air-shotting away next door.
