Shellshocked, A Veteran Comedy Night

Brisbane

SHELLSHOCKED 2026: HOSTAGE TAKE OVER

Shellshocked, the iconic military themed comedy show is BACK and bigger than ever! This year; we take it up to 11 with Hostage Takeover: featuring International Comics and deep dark sets by actual Aussie veterans, this is the night of nights in the military community. A chance for veterans and current serving to unwind; put your boots up

and have a relax with us, and for curious civilians to join our world for trauma-themed hilarity.

Headlined by Daniel Connell - one of Australia’s most recognisable comedians, known for his dry, understated and brutally relatable style of humour. Before becoming a full-time comedian, Daniel lived and worked in Canberra, where he started his comedy career while working in Defence — as the guy who read and redacted your mail [redacted].

Connell has appeared on Channel 10's Have You Been Paying Attention and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala, Daniel's comedy style is observational, unpretentious and often gloriously inappropriate. He has been described as wry, self-deprecating and occasionally dark, and quintessentially Aussie.

MC'd by Mike Goldstein straight from your screens - Channel 9's the Hundred with Andy Lee, Goldstein is an American comedian [redacted] who has spent years earning his stripes in Australia — from brutal mining-camp comedy gigs to some of the country's biggest comedy stages and television shows.

A former lawyer (not linked with Shellshocked for legal reasons (anymore)) who eventually traded the courtroom for the microphone, Mike has developed a reputation for sharp, rapid-fire and unapologetically inappropriate comedy. His style is particularly well suited to audiences who prefer their humour straight, dark and without a lot of hand-holding [allegedly].

Mike has performed extensively across Australia and internationally, opened for comedy heavyweights including Jim Jefferies, Doug Stanhope and Tommy Tiernan. He is also the host of The Phone Hacks, one of Australia's most successful comedy podcasts.

Also featuring veteran comedians Jack Knight, Michael Albrecht and Kara Robinson - and former SASR operator and musician Jack Wilde, Shellshocked 2026 is a one night only event that simply CAN NOT be missed!
